Proposed relocation of Shoreham Street Surgery

We are proposing to move our surgery from Shoreham Street to new premises at New Era Square, Sheffield, S2 4BF. All services delivered from the current site will continue be delivered at the new site. If approved, the Practice could move in Spring 2022.

We want to know what our patients think about this, and what impact it may have on them. We would be very grateful if you could share your views by completing our patient survey. Your feedback will help us make the best decisions for our practice and patients.

The local population continues to increase with particularly high numbers of students living nearby. We cannot continue to provide the quality of service required for all our patients without more space. We currently use 99.6% of the capacity of our current site and cannot expand further.

The practice has an opportunity to relocate to a site at the nearby New Era Square Project, which is only 0.3 miles and a 6-minute walk away from Shoreham Street Surgery. There are three bus stops within a short walking distance on Bramall Lane and London Road which serve several bus routes. There are 5 disabled parking spaces on site, ample parking on nearby side roads and an underground public car park.

The table below shows how the proposed site at New Era Square compares to our current Shoreham Street site.

We believe that moving to this new site will help us to:

  • Offer high quality social and medical care to our patients.
  • Provide new services, like integrated care and social prescribing, within our Practice.
  • Offer extended hours between the hours of 7am and 8pm, with more doctor, nurse, and health care assistant appointments.
  • Provide care for the growing local population of young families and students.
  • Provide more services closer to home, rather than experiencing long waiting lists to be seen in hospital, for example carpal tunnel, vasectomy and haemorrhoid injections.
  • Provide an attractive and comfortable environment where patients and staff feel safe, happy, and are able to receive the full range of services in a timely and effective manner.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop new GPs and other healthcare professions to make sure we have the right staff to look after our patients.

Please share your views using the patient survey by 17 January 2022.
